The Colorado Mountain Club Foundation was founded in 1973 to unite the energy, interests, and knowledge of the students, explorers and lovers of the mountains of Colorado; to collect and disseminate information regarding the Rocky Mountains on behalf of science, literature, art, and recreation; to stimulate public interest in mountain areas; and to encourage the preservation of forests, flowers, fauna, and natural scenery.
The CMCF was incorporated in 1973 under the Colorado Revised Nonprofit Corporation Act. The purposes for which this corporation was formed are exclusively to receive, administer, and disburse funds for tax-exempt charitable, scientific, literary, and educational purposes as set forth in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

MISSION – Our mission is to raise, manage, and distribute funds to support the stewardship, conservation, education, and other programs of the Colorado Mountain Club and other similar organizations.
